Ferrara's Beauty School (FBS) is not a large conglomerate; we are a privately owned and operated school. The founder and owner is Vincent Ferrara, he is a highly recognized business owner, and leader in the Cosmetology Industry. He is also a talented Licensed Hairdresser who holds a strong belief in hands-on Education. Mr. Ferrara has been successfully graduating students in New York for over 40 years.

FBS is one of the premier training providers based in Forest Hills, New York. Over the years we have successfully graduated hundreds of students, setting new standards in the education industry.

FBS is truly a unique campus offering a 1000 hour Cosmetology program as well as Computer and Business Classes which are directly related to Cosmetology. Specifically designed for those individuals who are interested in advancing their Business, Management and Ownership skills.

FBS is licensed by New York State Education Department, and offers a very unique training philosophy and learning environment. Vincent Ferrara graduated in 1964 from a small School owned by his father, who was also a Hairdresser. Upon graduation he went to work in a salon in Forest Hills, Queens, NY, where he worked until he was called to serve his Country from 1966 to 1968. His family's school became Robert Fiancé Hair Design Institute. In 1971 Vincent worked and taught Beauty Culture and helped run the family business with his father and four younger brothers, all of whom were Licensed Hairdressers until 1985.

His experience and education in the Cosmetology Industry led him to form a partnership, where he built and created one of the largest chains of Cosmetology Schools on the East Coast, 8 schools in three states, known as "The Learning Institute for Beauty Sciences"; (LIBS). This also included and encompassed an affiliate school in Tokyo, Japan. During this time while training thousands of students, he was appointed in 1997 by Governor Pataki to the Advisory Counsel for Proprietary Schools. He is still an active member serving on the Counsel today.

In 2004 he was approached by a large beauty school chain to sell his schools, this enabled him to retire. During his retirement he realized how much he enjoyed and missed the Cosmetology Industry. He still has much to offer new students entering the Hairdressing / Cosmetology Industry.

Opening Ferrara's Beauty School in Forest Hills is a culmination of many years of experience and passion for the Cosmetology Industry. Vincent knows there is a need for a school like the one he learned in. A small atmosphere surrounded by Professional Licensed Hairdressers who have compassion for the industry. "It feels as if I have come full circle." My aspiration is that every student who attends will enjoy their educational experience and feel like he did under his family's supervision when he was on his journey learning his trade. Ferrara's non-exclusive philosophy providing students with education of product knowledge, and hands on skills will set the learning bar to new heights. The goal is for every student to enjoy their education, have fun, and be passionate about the industry, their chosen goals, and career opportunities.
